STAIN™ is a Los Angeles–based streetwear brand founded by Alan Landau, owner of Labs Firm Studio and a longtime collector of work by emerging street artists. The project translates his appreciation for independent art, unconventional beauty, and underground culture into a fashion label with a clear identity and point of view.

STAIN™ entered a highly saturated streetwear market without an established identity, product system, or visual language. The challenge was to transform a founder-led idea into a credible fashion brand while preserving the rawness and independence at the center of its philosophy.
Turning Art Into Fashion
Translating the energy of street art into apparel without treating garments as simple canvases or losing the individuality of the original creative influence.
//01
Building Recognition From Zero
Creating a visual identity distinctive enough to establish STAIN™ as its own brand rather than another label built around familiar streetwear references.
//02
Balancing Rawness and Restraint
Preserving the imperfect, expressive character of underground culture while introducing enough structure to feel intentional, wearable, and commercially relevant.
//03
Designing Beyond Approval
Expressing a philosophy centered on personal instinct—creating for people who connect with the work regardless of trends, criticism, or conventional ideas of taste.
//04

The design direction treats STAIN™ as a cultural platform rather than a traditional apparel label. Identity, product, photography, and digital experience were developed together to create one consistent world where imperfection becomes character and individual taste becomes the central message.
Imperfection as Identity
Distressed textures, irregular compositions, and expressive typography were used as deliberate design tools, turning visual tension into a recognizable brand signature.

//02
Apparel as the Medium
Each garment was approached as a complete composition, considering scale, placement, proportion, fabric weight, and wash treatment to create pieces with a clear physical presence.
